Lake Singkarak


Lake Singkarak was in two districts in West Sumatra, Solok and Tanah Datar. With an area of ​​107.8 km ² lake is the 2nd largest lake in Sumatra. This lake is upstream Trunk Ombilin. Lake water is mostly channeled through the tunnel through the Bukit Barisan to Batang Anai to drive hydroelectric generators Singkarak near Lubuk Alung, Padang Pariaman.

Of the 19 species, three species of which have a high density of population, the fish Bilih or Biko (Mystacoleusus padangensis Blkr), Asang or Nilem (Osteochilus brachmoides) and Rinuak. Other fish species that live in Lake Batur is Turiak or turiq (Cyclocheilichthys de Zwani), auction pla or Nillem (Osteochilis vittatus), Sasau or Barau (Hampala mocrolepidota) and Gariang or Tor (Tor tambroides).
Then, Kapiek fish species (Puntius shwanefeldi) and Balinka or Belingkah (Puntius Belinka), Baung (Macrones planiceps), Kalang (Clarias batrachus), Jabuih or pufferfish (Tetradon mappa), Kalai or carp (carp Osphronemus lac) and Puyu or Betok (Anabas testudeneus).
Furthermore, fish species Sapek or Snakeskin (Trichogaster trichopterus), Tilan (mastacembelus unicolor), Jumpo or Cork (Chana striatus), Kiuang or Cork (Chana pleurothalmus) and Mujaie or Mujair (Tilapia pleurothalmus), added Hafrijal.
With only 19 species of fish that live in Lake Singkarak demonstrate the diversity of fish in places that are not too high. Lake Batur mesogotrofik conditions that cause habitat carrying capacity for the development and growth of aquatic organisms such as plankton and Betos, very limited.
