Muliakarta palace is the Palace of the Sultanate or Sultanate Tanjungpura Matan, the oldest sultanate located in the province of West Kalimantan. Named Muliakarta palace as the palace is located in the administrative region Muliakarta village. In addition, the palace is also known as the Palace Panembahan Saunan Gusti Muhammad, taken from the name of a famous sultan with authority and wit.

Muliakarta palace was first built by the prince who holds a Prime Minister Haji Muhammad Sabran, the 14th sultan of the Sultanate Tanjungpura, who reigned from 1845 until 1924. However, the palace is constantly undergoing renovations and reconstruction several times, so that it becomes as it looks now. However, only a small proportion of these palaces are still intact and can be seen to this day.
